How can I be sure my child will be safe on an educational tour?
In addition to our office in Washington, D.C., you are supported by EF's network of offices in many of our destination cities, so we're able to respond immediately and in person. An experienced Smithsonian Student Travel Tour Director also travels with your group 24 hours a day to ensure everything goes smoothly. At each of the hotels, there's one Smithsonian Student Travel security guard per floor present all night. Additionally, SST staff can be reached at any time of day or night.
What if there is an emergency on tour?
Our Smithsonian Student Travel Tour Directors are trained to handle any emergency that arises while on tour. They also carry a mobile phone at all times, which keeps them in constant contact with both our headquarters in Boston, as well as all of our local offices across North America. Additionally, we offer a 24-hour emergency service and round-the-clock access to ERIKA insurance specifically for medical emergencies. We also have a nationwide network of offices ready to help no matter where you are.
